EVEA project manager Sophie Laroche presents a new method of flow analysis for secondary materials (MFA) in the building sector at the Alliance HQE-GBC’s Circular Economy Conference. Testing evaluation program sign up before March 01.

On January 15, EVEA project manager Sophie Laroche presented a new method of flow analysis for secondary materials (MFA) in the building sector at the Alliance HQE-GBC’s Circular Economy Conference. The conference took place in Paris’s 16th arrondissement.

EVEA’s building department in Nantes collaborated on the project with Cerqual, the certification branch of the French nonprofit organization in charge of housing quality.

The MFA method, which was designed to support the increased application of a circular economy in the building sector, uses FDES and PEP data from INIES (France’s national database containing information on environmental and sanitary declarations for a range of products in the building sector) and data from various building LCAs. This is the first MFA method in the sector that makes significant use of these data sources.

The Alliance HQE-GBC has since started accepting entries for the first applied use of this MFA method: a series of tests evaluating the environmental impact of various kinds of buildings. Sign your building up before March 01: HQE Circular Economy Performance.

Conference organizers included the Minister of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, the Minister of Territorial Cohesion and Relations with Local Authorities, OREE, Certivéa, Cycle Up, and Institut National de l'Économie Circulaire (INEC).
