On Tuesday, May 21, 2024, a meeting of the French Environmental Labelling Stakeholder Committee was held, bringing together ADEME (the French agency for ecological transition), major industry federations from the textile and apparel sectors, leading French fashion brands, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other stakeholders, including consultancy firms like EVEA.
We were delighted to attend with Jean-Baptiste Riem, a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and eco-design consultant, who represented EVEA’s Textile team at the French Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion in Paris.
The objectives of this meeting were to:
At EVEA, we closely follow developments in environmental labelling both in France and across Europe. Notably, efforts towards the harmonization of environmental assessment methods continue at the European level, with the second public consultation on the PEF for Apparel and Footwear concluding on April 28.
In the meantime, we continue to support you with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) and eco-design initiatives. Our software tool, ASKOR, will be able to calculate environmental labeling scores once the ADEME methodology is published.
