EVEA’s Director of Agro-Resources and Green Chemistry, Samuel Causse, participated in a round table discussion at a seminar organized by France’s environmental agency, ADEME, on January 11th. The seminar, called « Agribalyse », focused on a program bearing the same name developed by ADEME for environmental evaluation of agricultural products in France. ADEME developed Agribalyse 10 years ago and the goal of this seminar was to evaluate the program on a global level since its creation as well as to improve the program for future use.

The seminar served in part as a platform for environmental professionals to discuss data development processes, methodologies to calculate environmental impact, and current use of Agribalyse by businesses. The seminar concluded by a conversation on future development of the program to best address the varying needs of both the private and public sectors.

During the round table discussion, Samuel had the chance to present some of EVEA’s work in eco-design and responsible communication in the agricultural and agro-food sectors.

The round table was organized by ADEME’s Jérôme Mousset and Vincent Colomb. Full list of round table participants: An De Schryver, Sandrine Espagnol, Chantal Gascuel, Samuel Causse.

On January 15, EVEA project manager Sophie Laroche presented a new method of flow analysis for secondary materials (MFA) in the building sector at the Alliance HQE-GBC’s Circular Economy Conference. The conference took place in Paris’s 16th arrondissement.

EVEA’s building department in Nantes collaborated on the project with Cerqual, the certification branch of the French nonprofit organization in charge of housing quality.

The MFA method, which was designed to support the increased application of a circular economy in the building sector, uses FDES and PEP data from INIES (France’s national database containing information on environmental and sanitary declarations for a range of products in the building sector) and data from various building LCAs. This is the first MFA method in the sector that makes significant use of these data sources.

The Alliance HQE-GBC has since started accepting entries for the first applied use of this MFA method: a series of tests evaluating the environmental impact of various kinds of buildings. Sign your building up before March 01: HQE Circular Economy Performance.

Conference organizers included the Minister of Ecological and Inclusive Transition, the Minister of Territorial Cohesion and Relations with Local Authorities, OREE, Certivéa, Cycle Up, and Institut National de l'Économie Circulaire (INEC).

Serge Ferrari, a world leader in flexible composite materials has just published their first Norwegian EPD (Environmental Product Declaration) for the product Flexlight Perform 832 for "tunnel" application. EVEA provided environmental analysis software and consultation services during the process.

Flexlight Perform 832 is a type II composite membrane that offers excellent strength. Its resistance to abrasion and UV ensures a long lifespan for metallo-textile structures.

This is the first EPD adhering to the EN 15804 standard that has been produced by EVEA for the Norwegian program EPD-NORGE and was carried out using SimaPro software and the Ev-DEC tool designed by EVEA.
