Majda Ailla : a dynamic balance

07/18/2025

Two places, two rhythms

Majda moves through life much like she surfs: focused, flexible, tuned in to the flow, and always ready to respond when the tide shifts.

She joined EVEA in July 2022, working on the commercial development of our life cycle and eco-socio design tool, ASKOR. On one side: outreach. On the other: customer loyalty. A fine balance she knows well. “What I like is when things are on the move. But never at the cost of balance.”

She learned that balance early on. Majda is from Safi, on Morocco’s Atlantic coast—a city of potters, sardines, and good surf. She grew up between an ocean always within sight and a father with a passion for art and travel. “My father headed the economic bureau in several cities. He built his own furniture, supported young artists… He passed on to me a love for beauty and movement.”

Her first big change came after a science-based baccalaureate: France. University in Caen, where she began studying biology. She kept going, step by step. But the lab wasn’t quite right. What she really enjoys is connection—faces, voices, cultures. A new direction followed: a master’s in digital innovation, then another in international business development. With her team, she went on to win the International

Vocation Prize. No surprise there.

Connection, energy, presence

Before joining EVEA, Majda worked across multiple sectors—start-ups, incubators, cybersecurity, international business. Each role helped sharpen her instincts and build her agility. Like her cat. During her EVEA interview, right at the end of the video call, the cat jumped into her lap. The recruiters smiled. A feline endorsement.

That’s one of the things she appreciates here in our Nantes office. The day-to-day simplicity of working in a worker-owned co-op. No power games, no inflated egos. Just people—engaged, open. And from the start, she felt she belonged. “That really struck me. I discovered a different way of working, a different way of connecting.”

She remembers a team seminar by a lake, under the June sun. A bit of croissant went down the wrong way—brief alarm, then shared laughter. Nothing serious. Just a bit of care when things go sideways.

She’s also discovering more about corporate responsibility, environmental concerns, and the links between personal choices and collective directions. Her habits are shifting. Her awareness is growing. She sees forests differently now. Sometimes she paints them. During lockdown, she took up acrylics, painting trees and beaches she loves.

Majda is always in motion. She boxes—to channel her energy. She surfs—to catch the wave. This summer, she’s heading to Taghazout, a well-known spot on Morocco’s coast. Her favourite moment? That split second before she stands up on the board, when it all comes down to timing and a single decision.

“What I love most is people,” she says. “The shared energy, the eye contact, colleagues who start to feel like family.”

That’s Majda. Movement and attentiveness. Momentum and calm.
